Women N Cricket : Gargi Banerjee's Column |
Cricketfundas.com's
Women N Cricket section has received a major
boost with the introduction of the Gargi
Banerjee's Column! An ardent follower of women's
cricket would definitely know about the name
Gargi Banerjee. A wonderfully talented opening
batswoman, Gargi made an immediate impact
scoring 71 in her debut Test against Australia at
Delhi. She has the distinction of playing 26
One Day Internationals and 14 Test Matches for
India. A completely attacking batswoman, she
scored 6 half centuries in her test career and 2 50s in the 26 ODIs. A career
best bowling figures of 6-4-9-6 against NZ at
Cuttack proves that her off spin was more than
useful. She also has the distinction of
representing the Indian Women's team in two
World Cups.
Her
International Career wasn't that long as there
was no International Cricket played by the
Indian Women's team between 1987 and 1990. Gargi
is here with Cricketfundas.com to bring out all
her experience through her column, which focuses
on players, administration, tours and other
parameters.
