return for West Indies |
Oct
1, 2005
The
West Indies are back to full strength for their
upcoming tour of Australia. West Indies have
picked up 15 players for the 3 Tests, the first
of which starts on November 3 at Brisbane. Brian
Lara, Chris Gayle, Ramnaresh Sarwan, Wavell
Hinds, Dwayne Bravo make a comeback after
missing out on the earlier tour of Sri Lanka due
to the contract dispute. Guyanese Shivnarine
Chanderpaul was named as the skipper. Upcoming
batting star Marlon Samuels and fast bowler
Jermaine Lawson have also been included.
Interestingly Sylvester Joseph who captained one
of the One Dayers in the Indian Oil Cup in Sri
Lanka has been axed along with opener Xavier
Marshall. Left arm medium pacer Pedro Collins
had also lost favour of the selectors. The squad
doesn't have a single specialist spinner.
