Windies' warm up
disrupted by bad weather |
May 14, 2007
West
Indies' only practice match ahead of the
first Test at Lord's turned out to be a
flop. The three-day match at the County
Ground in Taunton saw the last two days
washed out. Just over 48 overs were
bowled in this non first class game
which gave the visiting side a bit of
hit in the middle.
Runako Morton came up with an unbeaten
century to impress the team management
for a middle order berth. Shivnarine
Chanderpaul got an unbeaten 82 but
otherwise it was a bad show from the
visitors. They were at one stage in the
dumps at 44 for 4. But the partnership
between CHanderpaul and Morton rescued
them to end the day at 237 for 4.Veteran
medium pacer Steffan Jones took three of
the four wickets to fall.
