Windies pick squad for Singapore
& Malaysia Tri-Series |
West Indies have named a 14-man squad for the
Tri-Series to be held in Singapore and Malaysia
in September. Brian Lara who has apologized to
the Cricket Board for his over reactions over
matters like Team Selection would continue as
the Skipper. Denesh Ramdin has once again failed
to edge out Carlton Baugh for the wicket
keeper's slot. Fast bowler Fidel Edwards who had
pulled out of the India Series due to a
hamstring injury is back into the squad. Another
inclusion is that of opening batsman Wavell
Hinds who can bowl useful medium pace. There is
no place for the chinaman bowler Dave Mohammad
with the pair of Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels
doing an excellent job with their part time off
breaks. The rest of the players select
themselves. West Indies' form in One Dayers has
been good as they come after the 4-1 drubbing
given to a strong Indian Side. The other two

India and Australia. Following is the schedule
