Sarwan not
considered for India tour |

West
Indies have picked a 14-member squad for the
4-ODI Series against India which starts from
21st of this month. Middle order batsman,
Ramnaresh Sarwan has missed out as he hasn't
recovered from the foot injury he had sustained
in Pakistan. Sarwan had to retire hurt during
the third test after taking a yorker from Umar
Gul on his foot. The only new face in the squad
is a 25-year-old all rounder from T&T by the
name Reyad Emrit who bats right handed and bowls
right arm medium.
All rounder Dwayne Bravo, who
had missed the One Day Series in Pakistan makes
a comeback. The axe has fallen on opener,
Daren Ganga,
Dave Mohammed and surprisingly on all
rounder Dwayne Smith. Devon Smith, a left handed
opening batsman has got back into the side along
with Darren Sammy. Senior pacer,
Corey Collymore has been rested ahead of the
World Cup.
Update
on January 18 : Clive Lloyd, the former
Captain of West Indies will be the manager of
the team for the India tour. Lloyd acted as the
manager during the Champions Trophy in India few
months back in which West Indies had lost in the
Finals. Lloyd has replaced Tony Howard, the
previous manager. The West Indies Cricket Board
has also appointed an assistant coach for
Benneth King. Hendy Springer, who is the Head
Coach of Barbados will be assisting the West
Indies' main coach Benneth King.
Update on January 20 :
Darren Sammy has been ruled out of the India
tour because of a hamstring injury and has been
replaced with Dwayne Smith.
