West Indies had a great batting practice in
their 4-day tour game against Queensland at
the Allan Border Field at Brisbane. Marlon
Samuels made his mark scoring 257, opener
Devon Smith scored a good hundred too. West
Indies piled up a huge total of 612 in reply
to Queensland's first innings total of 323.
Queensland batted well in their 2nd innings
for a draw. Martin Love led the way scoring a
neat 108. Matthew Hayden didn't have good
outings in this game getting out for a nought
in the first innings and 22 in the 2nd
innings. Marlon Samuels had his moment with
the ball too with his off breaks as he picked
up a 5 wkt haul in the 2nd innings and Darren
Powell bowled well in the Queensland's 1st
innings taking 4 wickets. The 1st Test between
Australia and West Indies starts on November
3rd at Gabba. Meanwhile West Indies have lost
Wavell Hinds for the 1st Test after he
fractured his finger during the opening day of
this 4-day match.
