Scorecard)
Mohammad
Hafeez showed his all round abilities in
Pakistan's warm-up match against Canada at St
Augustine. Hafeez scored an attractive half
century when Pak were put into bat first and
then in the second half rolled his arm to
capture three wickets. Pakistan won by 77 runs
with Canada's innings lasting for 46.4 overs.
Pakistan had posted 273 for 8 in their allotted
48 overs. Two overs were deducted in each
innings because of the delay caused in the fall
of the sight screen due to wind. Skipper Inzamam
and wicket keeper batsman - Kamran Akmal had
also notched up half centuries. What was
surprising to note was the opening combination
used by Pakistan which consisted of Imran Nazir
(26) and Younis Khan (11). For Canada, Qaiser
Ali of Rawalpindi origin top scored with 37
while Ashif Mulla made 31. Skipper John Davison
who is the most popular Canadian player could
score only 6. Rao Iftikhar Anjum and Mohammad
Hafeez were the most successful bowlers with
three wickets each.
