This match was
scheduled to be played on the 14th of August but was abandoned
without a ball bowled due to heavy rain. The next day which was
kept aside as the reserve day was called off due to security
concerns raised by the South African Cricket Team following a
bomb blast in Central Colombo on the 14th. With tightened
security measures implemented, the South Africans have been
convinced that they can carry on with their tour and what was
supposed to be the opening game of the Unitech Cup has now been
pushed back to August 29, which would be the last match of the
series. The final of this Series which was scheduled on the 29th
will now be played on the 2nd of September.
