South Africa upset Australia at Centurion through a blistering second wicket stand of 116 in 12.1 overs from Skipper Graeme Smith (89 not out in 61 balls with 11 fours and 2 sixes) and AB de Villiers (65 from 35 with four fours and and as many sixes). SA reached their target of 180 losing just two wickets with five balls to spare. What was surprising to note was that Brett Lee was bowled for just 2 overs in the match.

Australia who were sent in by Graeme Smith had made 179 for 8. Australia once again lost three wickets at the top cheaply which included a double failure for Gilchrist.
