Malik leads the way for Pak against Zimbabwe |
Skipper Shoaib Malik led
the way for Pakistan in their warm-up match
against Zimbabwe at Centurion. Malik scored 64
from 37 balls with 3 fours and 4 sixes which
took Pakistan out of some initial trouble to
post 181 for 6 in 20 overs. Malik was supported
by Younis Khan, who made 37 in 29 with a couple
of fours and sixes. The two right handers put on
50 runs for the fourth wicket. Zimbabwe had
asked Pak to bat first in this match.
Zimbabwe in reply lost
their way after a sparkling partnership of 76
between opener Hamilton Masakadza (41 from 37
with 3 fours and a six) and former Skipper
Tatenda Taibu (34 from 27 with 2 fours and 2
sixes). Zims ended up getting just 127 on the
board as they lost as many as 8 wickets. Umar
Gul was the pick of the bowlers with superb
figures of 3 for 11 in 4 overs including a
maiden! Shahid Afridi with his leg breaks put
the brakes in the second half of the innings
with his 3 for 17 in 4 overs.
