Sarwan returns to
the fold for Windies |
Ramnaresh
Sarwan will be making his full comeback to
International Cricket in the home Test Series
against Sri Lanka which starts on the 22nd of
March. Sarwan, however will not be back as the
Captain with the Selectors deciding to continue
with Chris Gayle. Like Sarwan, Gayle is also
coming back from an injury which kept him out
during the South African tour.
Sarwan had suffered a nasty shoulder in last
year's England tour and then an ankle injury
later which has put him out of action for the
West Indies. In between these two injuries,
Sarwan did Skipper West Indies in the inaugural
Twenty20 World Championship. There are a couple
of uncapped players in the squad for the first
test which includes Barbados left arm spinner -
Sulieman Benn and Trinidad & Tobago off spinner
- Amit Jaggernauth. Other notable inclusions in
the West Indies' squad are opener Sewnarine
Chattergoon and all rounder Ryan Hinds.
Left arm medium pacer Pedro Collins, who was
originally picked in the squad has opted out
because of his interest in keeping his
commitment with Surrey as a Kolpak player.
