Fall of wickets (India Vs Sri Lanka, 2nd ODI at Mohali, Chandigarh)

Fall of Sri Lankan wickets :

1-1 (Sanath Jayasuriya, 0.6 ovs) : Jayasuriya goes for a flashing six over third man as he sees some width in that Pathan's delivery. But Jayasuriya who had been destructive with this shot couldn't connect that well and found the hands of the thirdman fielder Virender Sehwag. 1996 World Cup Semi Final at Eden Gardens, Calcutta relived!

2-13 (Marvan Atapattu, 3.6 ovs) : Wanted to break free and put pressure on the bowler with some boundaries. Goes for the wrong ball as he tries to drive Agarkar's away swinger and the nick was superbly taken by a diving DHoni behind the stumps. Atapattu and Jayasuriya having a torrid time in this series.

3-33 (Mahela Jayawardene, 6.5 ovs) : Pathan's inswinger and Jayawardene could have hit that for four easily on the leg side. But unfortunately for Mahela, he flicks it straight to Venugopal Rao at square leg. Venugopal Rao flicks the ball upwards in style, that was a lucky wicket for the Indians and they would take it.

4-54 (Kumar Sangakkara, 12.2 ovs) : Atrocious shot from Sangakkara to give away his wicket; Sri Lanka needed him to stay at the wicket. But the wicket keeper batsman went for a pull for a ball which was on the shorter side and outside off stump, the top edge is comfortably taken by Sachin at mid on. Irfan Pathan picks up 3 wickets now.

5-54 (Tillakaratne Dilshan, 12.3 ovs) : Great first delivery from Pathan to Dilshan. Dilshan plays along the wrong line and the ball swing in enough to rap him up on the pads, that's 2 wickets in 2 balls and Pathan is on a hat-trick.

6-71 (Russel Arnold, 18.3 ovs) : Harbhajan coming round the wicket produces the false stroke from Arnold with his angle. With the ball drifting in, Arnold looked to flick it to the onside but with the turn from that ball a leading edge results and the Indian skipper at 1st slip takes the catch.

7-80 (Chaminda Vaas, 19.5 ovs) : Maharoof plays Harbhajan's ball to point and calls for a run and his partner Vaas responds and sets off. But Maharoof looking at Agarkar's speed at point sends his partner back and Agarkar shoots the throw directly onto the stumps and Vaas is a frame short of the crease. Third Umpire was referred but Vaas knew he was gone and he walked off the field without wasting any time.

8-104 (Farveez Maharoof, 31.4 ovs) : Runs were hard to come for the Lankans now and Maharoof who was already into a dull innings thought enough was enough and went hard at a juicy ball outside off stump off Jai Prakash Yadav. The uppish drive went straight into Yuvraj's hands at point.

9-104 (Nuwan Zoysa, 31.5 ovs) : Good inswinger from J.P.Yadav coming over the stumps to the left hander Nuwan Zoysa. Zoysa is beaten by the swing and the fuller length and got struck plumb in front of the wicket, Yadav like Pathan is now on a hat trick.

10-122 (Muralitharan, 35.4 ovs) : Muralitharan wants to hit everything off Harbhajan and this time he makes room and tries to cut the ball. But Harbhajan cleverly bowled it slower in the air and the deception in pace is enough to fox Murali and his stumps are disturbed. That's the end of Sri Lanka!

Fall of Indian wickets :

1-80 (Virender Sehwag, 9.4 ovs) : Maharoof's slower delivery is patted straight to the bowler itself and Sehwag is gone and that's the Dinner break. Sehwag tried to check his push but it was too late and he wasted yet another start to his innings.

2-115 (Jai Prakash Yadav, 16.5 ovs) : Jai Prakash Yadav fails to read Murali's doosra and goes for a sweep intending it to play with the turn. The doosra spoils his intention of connecting the sweep and he is hit on his pads. Umpire Billy Bowden gives him lbw but that seemed to have taken his glove on the way as shown in the replays. Anyway that's Muralitharan's first wicket on this tour!
