Anderson out for two months with a stress

England's
fast bowler James
Anderson has been ruled out of cricketing
action for two months due to a stress fracture
in his lower back. The 23-year-old Lancashire
bowler has not played any cricket since
returning home from the India tour where he had
played a significant role in the One Dayers and
the 3rd Test Match at Mumbai, which England won
to level the Test Series. Anderson has exactly
played 50 ODIs and he has played 13 Test
Matches. His One Day Career has been impressive
taking 75 wickets at a more than decent average
of 26 with five 4-wicket hauls. His Career
highlight has been the hat-trick at at The Oval
against Pakistan in the 2003 NatWest Challenge.
His Test Career has been slow in t aking off and
he has captured 41 victims so far at an average
of 33.00.
England have been seriously hit by injuries
and its pace attack has been weakened with
Simon Jones
getting a recurring knee injury and
Steve Harmison
still suffering from a shin injury.
Michael Vaughan
and Ashley Giles,
who are recovering from their respective
surgeries are ruled out for the 1st Test.
Sajid Mahmood,
who was wayward in the One Day Series in India
is likely to figure in the England pace attack
for the upcoming Test Series against Sri Lanka.
Mahmood was infact pulled out of the England A
Squad that is scheduled to play a 4-day match
against the Sri Lankans at Worcester starting
tomorrow. The 1st Test Match begins on the 11th
at Lord's.
