England retain
the same squad for the 3rd Test |
May 30, 2006
England have retained the same squad of 12 that
was involved in the victorious 2nd Test against
Sri Lanka at Edgbaston. The homeside had won the
Test Match by 6-wickets and the 1st Test before
this at Lord’s was drawn. This means that
Steve Harmison
who has recovered from a shin injury will have
to wait until the Pakistan Series to get back to
the England Side. It is learnt that the
Selectors are not yet satisfied with Harmison’s
match fitness and they want him to play a few
more county games to regain that and get used to
bowling long spells. Harmison will train with
the England Side in Trent Bridge, Nottingham
which is the venue for the 3rd Test starting on
the 2nd of June.
England Squad for the 3rd Test : Marcus
Trescothick, Andrew Strauss, Alastair Cook,
Kevin Pietersen, Paul Collingwood, Andrew
Flintoff (Captain), Geraint Jones (Wicket
Keeper), Liam Plunkett, Matthew Hoggard, Sajid
Mahmood, Monty Panesar, Jon Lewis
