Jayasuriya has a tragic end to his Test Career |

Jayasuriya who was playing his last Test Match
of his career during the 2nd and final Test
Match against Pakistan at the Asgiriya Stadium
in Kandy had an abrupt ending to his career due
to an onfield injury. Jayasuriya while taking
the catch of Imran Farhat's slashing drive at
gully. The ball was traveling and hit Jayasuriya
on the base of his thumb. Jayasuriya did
complete the catch but he split the webbing
between his right index finger and thumb. He did
not come out to bat during Sri Lanka's 2nd
innings although the homeside was in trouble of
getting bowled out under 100 and the series was
under a threat. Jayasuriya's last innings of his
Test Career was the first innings of this Test
on Day 1 where he was out for just 14. The left
hander has dislocated his thumb and would be out
of action for atleast four weeks. Sanath
Jayasuriya wants to continue playing One Dayers
and wants to exit after the 2007 World Cup.
