Makhaya Ntini out of the third
test |
Jan 1, 2006
South
Africa’s Makhaya Ntini would be sitting out of
the 3rd Test Match at the Sydney Cricket Ground
due to a hamstring injury. Ntini was injured
during the fourth day of the 2nd Test Match at
Adelaide which was won convincingly by the
homeside. Ntini didn’t take any further part in the
match with the ball and his place is likely to
be taken by off spinner Johan Botha. The
23-year-old Botha was just flown in as Ntini’s
replacement and he might play the Sydney Test as
the wicket has traditionally been friendly to
spinners. For Australia, Justin Langer is
expected to be fit and Phil Jacques would make
way for him at the top. Australia are leading
this 3-Tests Series 1-0. The third and final
Test at Sydney starts on the 2nd and it would be
the 1st International match of 2006.
