July 24, 2006
South Africans dominated the Lankan A Side on
Day 2 of their three-day warm match at the Colts
Ground in Colombo. The Lankan Side collapsed in
their first innings to 162 all out with Andre
Nel picking up four wickets. Andre Nel’s
destruction had come after Ntini and Steyn had

to put up some sort of a fight for the homeside
and he remained unbeaten on 51. The innings came
to an end in the 47th over itself with Nel
taking 4 for 39 in just 13 overs. Makhaya Ntini
and Nicky Boje had taken a couple of wickets
each. South Africa at Stumps on Day 2 were 43
for 1 with Herschelle Gibbs failing after being
cleaned up by Ruchira Perera. AB de Villiers was
promoted at no.3 in this innings and he has
remained not out on 3 along with Boeta Dippenaar
who is batting on 22.

their first innings to 465 for 4 before
declaring their innings. Overnight batsman,
Hashim Amla added another 22 to his score of 128
before getting out to Ganegama. Ashwell Prince
