Proteas begin their tour with a
warm up match today |

South Africa who are led by its first black
Captain, Ashwell Prince will begin their tour of
Sri Lanka today with a three-day match against
Sri Lanka Cricket Board XI at Colts Grounds in
Colombo. The SL Board Team has been packed with
several players who have already represented Sri
Lanka in Tests and ODIs and that includes
Avishka Gunawardene, middle order batsman
Samaraweera, openers Vandort and Mubarak, middle
order bat Kapugedera, spinner Herath and medium
pacers Zoysa and Ruchira Perera. South African
squad is depleted with the absence of Shaun
Pollock and Thandi Tshabalala who haven’t joined
the team in Sri Lanka yet. This is the only warm
up game for the South Africans who would be
heading for the 1st Test match at the SSC which
begins from the 27th.
