Final ODI shifted
from Karachi to Lahore |
The final ODI of the
ongoing Pak-SA Series has been shifted from
Karachi to Lahore following security issues.
Last week there was a twin blast in Karachi
which killed more than hundreds of people during
the homecoming of former Prime Minister Benazir
Bhutto.
The South Africans
almost pulled off from their ongoing tour
following the civil and political unrest in
Pakistan. However they have been given foolproof
security throughout their stay. The first Test
of the tour which the visitors had won was
played at Karachi without any incidents. The
bombings in Karachi on the 18th would have
forced many touring teams to withdraw from the
tour but the Proteas decided against that
decision this time round. This is not the first
time that the South Africans have faced such a
security problem. Last year they had pulled off
from a Triangular Tournament in Sri Lanka
because of a bomb blast from the LTTE.
The final ODI of the
five-match series is going to be held at the
Gaddafi Stadium which has already hosted the
first two ODIs along with the 2nd Test!
