The second round of matches
in the Plate League got underway on the 25th of November.
Here is a review of the matches that took place
on the 25th November to 28th November at various
venues across the country.
Jharkhand Vs
Jammu & Kashmir at Jamshedpur |
After earning 2 points against Saurashtra,
Jharkhand played hosts against Jammu and Kashmir
at Jamshedpur. Jharkhand won the toss and put
the opposition into bat. Jammu & Kashmir were
bundled out for a paltry total of 79 in their
1st Inning as Mihir Diwakar ended up with
figures of 4/17. Jharkhand in reply scored 245
with notable contributions from Sunil Kumar and
MS Dhoni. Jammu and Kashmir again failed to put
a decent total on the board as they were bowled
out for 176 as Manzoor Dar top scored with an
unbeaten 60. Jharkhand who required just 11 runs
for a victory, achieved the target with utmost
ease and earned 5 valuable points.
Jharkhand will play Kerala next week, where as
Jammu & Kashmir would like to open their account
against Saurashtra next week.

Kerala Vs
Orissa at Palghat |
After earning 4 points against Jammu & Kashmir
last week, Orissa travelled down south to play
Kerala. Kerala, having won the toss and elected
to bat and scored 324 runs with Sreekumaran Nair
top scoring with 87. Mohanty ended up with
figures of 4/40. In reply Orissa replied
strongly with a century from Shiv Sunder Das, as
they ended up scoring 334 with a lead of just 10
runs. Kerala in their 2nd Innings, declared at
149/8 with Oasis scoring 39. Chasing 140 in less
than 15 overs, Orissa were able to put only 47
runs for the loss of 3 wickets. Orissa took home
2 points due to a 1st Inning lead.
Kerala play Jharkhand next week at Jharkhand,
where as Orissa play Himachal Pradesh.

Himachal Pradesh Vs
Saurashtra at Dharmasala |
After giving 2 points to Jharkhand last week,
Saurashtra travelled up to Dharmasala to face
Himachal Pradesh. Saurashtra won the toss and
elected to bat and managed to put up 268 runs on
the board with a top score of 47 from Kanaia
Vaghela. Himachal Pradesh in reply managed to
put only 140 on the board as S Jobanputra
wrecked their batting line up with a 5 wicket
haul. With a lead of 128 runs in hand,
Saurashtra scored just 153 in their 2nd Innings
as Thakur and Diwan took 3 wickets each for
Himachal Pradesh. Chasing a target of 282 was
never going to be easy, but Himachal Pradesh
achieved that target with the help of an
unbeaten 92 from Sangram Singh and 4 wickets in
hand. Himachal Pradesh thus added 4 more points
to their tally, while Saurashtra are yet to open
their account.
Himachal Pradesh play Orissa next week, where as
Saurashtra travel up north to play Jammu &
Kashmir

Haryana
Vs Goa at Gurgaon |
After losing 2 points against Services last
week, Goa faced Haryana this week at Gurgaon.
After winning the toss, Goa put Haryana into
bat. Haryana, with the help of an unbeaten
century from Joginder Sharma put 293 runs on the
board. Narayan Kambli took 4 wickets for Goa. In
reply, Goa managed to get only 165, with Sharma,
Malik and Vashisht taking 3 wickets each.
Haryana declared their 2nd Innings at 188/6
setting a target of 317 for Goa. Joginder Sharma
took a 6 wicket haul as Goa were bowled out for
163 with Phadke unbeaten till the end on 68. The
win gave Haryana 4 points, while Goa are yet to
open their account.
Haryana will play Services next week at Delhi,
where as Goa play Vidarbha at home.

Vidarbha Vs
Tripura at Nagpur |
Tripura who gained 2 points against Haryana last
week went to Nagpur to face Vidarbha. After
winning the toss, Vidarbha put Tripura in to bat
and their bowlers took full advantage as Tripura
were bowled out for a paltry 91. In reply
Vidarbha scored just 154 with Shukla and Manoj
Singh taking the wickets for Tripura. Tripura in
their 2nd Innings failed yet again as they were
all out for 164 as Sandeep Singh took 5 wickets
leaving Vidarbha a target of 102 runs. Vidarbha
achieved their target with 6 wickets in hand and
thus registered their 2nd victory.
Tripura face Rajasthan in their next match,
where as Vidarbha play Goa in Goa next week.

Services Vs
Rajashtan

After biting the dust against Vidarbha last
week, Rajasthan went to Delhi to face Services.
Rajasthan won the toss and elected to bat first.
Their batsmen put on a decent total of 290 with
wicket keeper Rohit Jhalani top-scoring with 65.
Sudhakar Ghag took 4 wickets for Services. In
reply, Services scored 441 thanks to a century
from Yashpal Singh. Rahul Kanwat took 5 wickets
for Rajasthan. Rajasthan in their 2nd Inning
ended at 326/5 with a century from the bat of
Nikhil Doru. Services on account of the 1st
Inning lead earned 2 points while Rajasthan
haven't opened their account yet.
Rajasthan face Tripura next week, where as
Services play Haryana at Delhi.
