Ranji One Day 2004-05 : Central Zone: Rajasthan Vs
Vidarbha |
Jan 9th, 2005:
Vidarbha’s captain Pritam Gandhe won the toss at
the Daly College Grounds and choose to bat
first. Some steady contributions from the middle
order took Vidarbha to a solid total of 246.
Samir coming in at No.5 was the most impressive
scoring freely to make 58 from 66 with 4 hits to
the fence. For Rajasthan, left arm spinner Anup
Dave who was the member of the Kaif led World
Cup U19 team in 2000, took 4/41 in his 10 overs
quota.
Chasing this total, Rajasthan were never in
control of the game and had a torrid start
losing 5 wickets for just 64 runs. Chanwaria,
who scored a slow 59 and Ranjeet Singh with his
31 delayed the inevitable. Rajasthan crawled to
make 183/8 in their 50 overs and thus shedding
earned a minus point and Vidarbha were the happy
lot with 5 points. Samir Khare with his leg
breaks added a couple of wickets to his 58 to be
the real star of the day.
