Railways who were playing their last league
match in the East Zone League took on Madhya
Pradesh today at the Maharani Usharaje Trust
Ground in Indor.
Railways after winning
the toss and electing to bat were off to a good
start, thanks to openers Shankara Rao and Amit
Pagnis as they put on 95 runs for the 1st
wicket. The captain Sanjay Bangar came in at
no.4 and played a crucial knock of 60 which
included a four and 2 huge hits over the fence.
The Railways eventually ended at respectable
total of 258 in their allotted 50 overs. For
Madhya PRadesh, Sanjay Pandey was a bit
expensive giving away 57 runs, but he also
picked up 3 wickets. Shantanu Pitre and Yogesh
Golwalkar bagged 2 wickets each.
Madhya Pradesh in reply
were lead by wicket-keeper Naman Ojha who scored
a fine 69 of 86 balls which included 9 fours.
The captain Abbas Ali came in to score a
quickfire 29 of just 19 balls but he didn't last
more than that. All Rounder JP Yadav proved
difficult to get past for the boys from Madhya
Pradesh as they broke down within the 47th over
for just 222 runs. This 36 run victory gave
Railways 4 points and a 2nd place in the Central
Zone Points Table.

(N Ojha 69 R Bakshi 34, Jai P Yadav 3/18) by
36 runs
