It was the last match of the South Zone League
as Karnataka took on Goa at the Arlem Breweries
Ground in Margao.
Sujith Somasunder won the
toss and elected to field first. Goa struggled
throughout their batting as none of their
batsmen were able to put up a decent score on
the board. The only notable contribution came
from the bat of Amit Dani who scored a slow 49
of 108 balls. Goa in the end managed to put a
paltry score of 129 in the allotted 50 overs.
For Karnataka veteran Dodda Ganesh was among the
wickets with figures of 3/32. Chandrashekhar
Raghu and Sunil Joshi also chipped in with 2
wickets each.
Karnataka in reply
achieved the required target comforatably in the
37th over with 7 wickets in hand. Barrington
Rowland scored an unbeaten 53, while captain
Sujith Somasunder hit 42 of 66 balls. Kerala
with this 7-wicket victory earned a bonus point
and ended at the 2nd position in the South Zone
League.
