Hyderabad who desperately required a win after 2
defeats in a row at the hands of Karnataka and
Kerala, faced Tamil Nadu today at the Arlem
Breweries Ground in Margao.
Tamil
Nadu led by Subramaniam Badrinath won the toss
and elected to field first. The Hyderabadis got
off to a good start as the opening stand of
Daniel Manohar and the young opener Abhinav
Kumar put 72 runs. The 19 year old debutant
Abhinav Kumar went on to score a brilliant 110
on debut,
before he was dismissed by the left arm spin of Ramkumar. A cameo of 68 from 58 balls from
Anirudh Singh which included 4 fours and a six
ensured a total of 288 for Hyderabad.
Tamil Nadu in reply
didn't have the best of starts as they lost one
of their openers Aniruddha Srikkanth for 12.
Sivaramakrishnan Vidyut went on to score 47
before he was caught by Khaleel of Manohar with
the score on 84/2. The Tamil Nadu captain
Badrinath along with the experienced Sridharan
Sharath played wonderfully well as they put on a
match winning partnership of 130 runs for the
3rd wicket. Sridharan Sharath scored a brilliant
unbeaten 103 as he saw Tamil Nadu reach the
target with 19 balls to spare. Tamil Nadu with
this 6 wicket victory earned 4 points, while
Hyderabad are yet to open their account.
Hyderabad face Goa
tomorrow, while Tamil Nadu face Andhra.
