Ranji One Day 2004-05 : South Zone: Hyderabad Vs
Karnataka |
Jan 9th, 2005:
Hyderabad’s young skipper Arjun Yadav won the
toss and put Karnataka to bat first at the Arlem
Breweries Ground. Hyderabad’s new ball attack of
left armer Vishnuvardhan and newcomer Kaushik
Reddy straightaway put Karnataka onto the
backfoot by reducing them to 38/3. But the
innings was rescued by the experienced duo of
Arun Kumar and skipper Sujith Somasunder. Later
down the order, C.Raghu and Akhil came up with
useful knocks to see Karnataka score 244/9 in
its allotted 50 overs quota.
Hyderabad’s batsmen Daniel Manohar, skipper
Arjun Yadav and Ambati Rayudu all got going but
failed in seeing their side to a victory. All
the three batsmen scored half centuries but
Hyderabad still fell short of the target by 16
runs. Arjun Yadav was the top scorer in this
game with 80 that came in 104 balls with 5 fours
and 1 six.
Karnataka 244/9 (J Arun Kumar 39
Sujith Somasunder 40) defeated Hyderabad
229/7 (Daniel Manohar 51 Arjun Yadav 80
AT Rayudu 60) by 15 runs
