Ranji One Day 2004-05 : South Zone: Hyderabad Vs
Andhra |
Jan 15th, 2005:
Hyderabad were having a
rough time in this tournament and today was no
different. After winning the toss and batting
first Hyderabad crumbled to the off spin of
Venugopal Rao.
With AT Rayudu missing
out this game, it was all the more difficult for
Hyderabad to really stamp any authority of sorts
on the opposition's bowling attack. The batting
side was struggling at 95/7 and Ibrahim Khaleel
and Vishnuvardhan played well to prolong the
innings to 146. Venugopal Rao who is known more
for his thunderous batting came up with top
notch bowling figures of 5/20 in a little over 8
overs.
M.S.K. Prasad played the
perfect skipper's innings to ensure a win for
Andhra. Hyderabad did fight well to pick 6
wickets but it was M.S.K.Prasad's unbeaten 68
that was the difference in this game between
victory and defeat.
Hyderabad 146 (Ibrahim
Khaleel 33, Venugopal Rao 5/20) lost to
Andhra 148/6 in 40.5 Overs (M.S.K.Prasad
68*) by 4 wickets
