A confident Goa team who defeated Andhra a
couple of days back, faced Kerala who had won
both their matches prior to this encounter.
Shami Asnodkar of Goa won the toss and elected
to bat first. The boys from Goa failed to click
this time, except for a fighting 47 from Amit
Dani as they posted 181 runs on the board. The
National reject - Tinu Yohannan continued to
impress with his good performances as he took 3
wickets for 36 runs along with the promising
young Sree Santh who took 4 wickets for 29 runs.
Chasing 182 for a
victory, Kerala lost Suresh Kumar early with 20
runs on the board. But, a valiant knock of 44
from opener Vasudevan Jagadeesh and an unbeaten
90 from Raiphi Gomez saw a convincing 7-wicket
victory for the Kerala team. Kerala with this
victory are 2nd in the points table below Tamil
Nadu.
Kerala face Karnataka
tomorrow, while Goa face Hyderabad.
