Ranji One Day 2004-05 : West Zone: Punjab Vs Delhi

Jan 11th, 2005:

Dinesh Mongia, the Punjab skipper won the toss at the Dharmashala and elected to bat first. Ashish Nehra got the Punjab batsmen in trouble, but one batsman stood tall and was playing his shots. That was Ravneet Ricky who survived the new ball was all at attack and defence, although he lacked support from the other end. Ricky carried his bat through the innings scoring 124 from 153 balls and hit 9 4s and 4 6s. He single handedly took Punjab to 225/9 in the allotted 50 overs.

Delhi chasing 226 were wrecked by Gagandeep Singh, who took 4 top order wickets, including that of Gambhir's, Dhawan's, Manhas' and Jadeja's. And with that torrid spell of Gagandeep's, Delhi could manage just 159 runs on the board and had to earn a negative point.

Punjab 225/9 (Ravneet Ricky 124*, Ashish Nehra 3/36) defeated Delhi 159 (Varun Kumar 33, Gagandeep Singh 4/15 Vipul Sharma 3/31) by 66 runs Full Scorecard
