After a victory against Himachal Pradesh a
couple of days back, confident Delhi took on
Haryana today at the HPCA Stadium in Dharmasala.
Haryana after winning the
toss and electing to bat were a bit rusty to
start off with as they were 3 down for 44 within
the 15th over. Opener Chetan Sharma scored a
patient 41, which was followed by Deepak Joon's
47 as Haryana posted 197 for the loss of 7
wickets after 50 overs. Yogesh Sachdeva and
Rajat Bhatia took 2 wickets each for Delhi.
In reply, Delhi led by an
inform opener in the form of Shikhar Dhawan who
was fresh from a century against Himachal
Pradesh continued his bright form as he scored
another century today against the Haryanvis. He
was well supported by skipper Ajay Jadeja who
scored 48 of 75 which included 2 fours and a
six. Delhi reached their required target with 8
balls to spare and attained a 2nd spot along
with Himachal Pradesh in the points table.
