Baroda, who were 3 points behind the
leaders before this match took on Maharashtra at
the Sardar Vallabhai Patel today at Ahmedabad.
Baroda after winning the
toss and electing to bat were of to a good
start, thanks to openers Connor Williams and
Satyajit Parab who put on 81 runs for the 1st
wicket. Yousuf Pathan coming in at no.3 hit a
valuable 47 along with captain Jacob Martin who
hit 41 as Baroda reached a competitive total of
259 in 50 overs.
Maharashtra in reply were
in trouble losing their first 4 wickets with
just 46 runs on the board. Hrishikesh Kanitkar
came good with the bat with a solid 91, which
included 3 fours and 3 sixes. No other batsman
contributed to the Maharashtra total as they
were bowled out for 202 in the 49th over. Ajit
Bhoite took 3 wickets for Baroda giving away
just 29 runs in 10 overs.
Baroda with this victory
earned 5 points and ended up at the top of the
Points tally in the West Zone league.
