Hyderabad Vs Karnataka at
Hyderabad (Result : Hyderabad won by 297 runs)
Hyderabad have been the team in question so far,
but they were ready to spring a surprise or two
when they took on zonal rivals Karnataka. The
Hyderabadi batting looked a bit sloppy as they
gave cheap wickets with only D Vinay Kumar
putting up a decent score of 65. NC Aiyyapa
fittingly showed us as to why he deserved the
Speedster award by picking up 3/51. The
Karnataka batsman were no different, as they
gave cheap wickets to the veteran Hyderabadi
speedster NP Singh who bagged a haul of 6/31.
Hyderabad then consolidated on their 1st Innings
lead of 77 by scoring 309 in their second
innings, with keeper Khaleel coming up with yet
another vital contribution with the bat. The
target of 387 was clear for the men from
Bangalore, but there were worse things to
happen. Pacer Faiz Ahmed bagged a six-for again
(6/29) to bowl out Karnataka for a cheap 90 and
give them a crucial 287 run win. Hyderabad take
4 very important points from this tie, whereas
Karnataka return home with plenty of questions
to answer ! Hyderabad travel to the Eden Gardens
to take on Bengal whereas Karnataka have a rest
week.
Hyderabad 177 all out (D.Vinay
Kumar 65; NC Aiyappa 3/51) and 309 (Khaleel 72*)
beat Karnataka 100 (NP Singh 6/31) and 90 (Faiz
Ahmed 6/29) by 287 runs

Tamil Nadu at Ahmedabad (Result : Match Drawn)
Gujarat hosted a yet-again depleted Tamil Nadu
side at the Motera, Ahmedabad. It was a very
worn wicket as it witnessed plenty of cricket

scored 50. Sarath went on to make 155 as he
played with the help of tailender C Ganapathy to
help Tamil Nadu pile up 372 runs. Gujarat looked
a bit off early on losing 3 quick wickets, but

Uttar Pradesh would have been confident after
that draw against Mumbai, where their youngsters
came through. But, they were to take on a
confident Railways line-up which had just beaten
Delhi. UP did all the good things right from the

the never-give-up attitude of Railways was seen
as they derailed UP for just 71 runs with offie

this lead and made 208, setting UP a target of
