Lahore Test |
Jan 9, 2006
Dashing Left handed opening batsman Imran Farhat
has been included in the 15-man Pakistan squad
to play the 1st Test against India at Lahore.
Imran Farhat would open the batting with Salman
Butt in the 1st Test. The 23-year-old Farhat
forced his way into the Test Squad following a
dashing 107 in the ongoing 3-day match between
Pakistan A and the Indian team. Farhat had
earlier played 15 Tests with 2 hundreds and 4
fifties but he doesn't have a great batting
average. The left hander has also played ODIs
for Pakistan and had scored a hundred also.
Yasir Hameed was ruled out due to typhoid. Out
of form, Asim Kamal has lost his place in the
side and young fast bowler Umar Gul, who has
recovered his full fitness was also ignored. The
Selectors have picked up 1-Test Match-old
Mohammad Asif ahead of Gul. The 1st Allianz Cup
