Younis Khan decides to resign as Pakistan Captain

Looks like Pakistan will be appointing yet another Captain in the coming days following reports that Younis Khan has almost given his resignation from the post. Younis Khan has been facing pressure from the top politicians of Pakistan after his team’s unexpected defeat to New Zealand in the Champions Trophy Semi Final.

There has been a lot of match fixing allegations made on the Pakistan team after their defeat especially because of a sitter of a catch dropped by Younis Khan at a crunch moment of the Semi Final match. So far the PCB has rejected Younis Khan’s resignation but it is highly likely that Shahid Afridi would be taking over as the ODI Captain as well. The problem that Pakistan will face is whom to make the Test team captain as Shahid Afridi hasn’t been a regular member of the squad at all.
