Pak batsmen have
a great outing at Benoni |

Openers Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Farhat scored
centuries in the three-day warm up game at
Benoni ahead of the first test match. Both the
opening batsmen had scored their hundreds in
Pak's first innings and in the second essay as
well the two batsmen played solidly well.
Pakistan had made 485 for 9 declared in their
first essay having won the toss while in the
second innings, they made 96 for 2 before the
match ended in a draw.
Rest of South Africa did fairly well when it was
their turn to bat as they piled up 383 with
Morne van Wyk and Arno Jacobs scoring centuries.
Shahid Nazir was the most impressive bowler
among the Pakistanis as he took 5 for 61 in 21
overs. The three-day game also saw Yasir Hameed
and Younis Khan notching up half centuries.
Skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq didn't bat at all in the
two innings. The only worry for Pakistan in this
game was Umar Gul pulling out after bowling just
three overs owing to an ankle injury. Shoaib
Akhtar has been asked to join the squad to give
cover for Gul.
