Ishant added up
to the Indian Squad |
Delhi's Ishant Sharma
has been added to the Indian Squad following the
injuries to Sreesanth and RP Singh. Yesterday,
the BCCI had named just Munaf Patel as the
replacement for these two bowlers but today the
name of Ishant Sharma has been added.
India are likely to play
only Zaheer Khan and Munaf Patel in the final
line-up with the focus being more on a
spin-oriented attack led by Captain Anil Kumble.
With the Feroz Shah Kotla pitch expected to be
dry as per its tradition, the Indian Team
Management will be tempted to play with three
spinners.
It will be very
surprising if Ishant Sharma does manage to play
the Test Match because of his inexperience at
the highest level. The 19-year-old tall fast
bowler has played just the one Test against
Bangladesh in which he took a wicket. He also
got to play a lone ODI against South Africa in
the series in Ireland. Ishant had a particularly
good match last week in which he took
seven
wickets against Saurashtra in the ongoing
Ranji Trophy Championship.
