Harmison, Bell
called up for Lord’s Test |
July 10, 2006
England have named a 13-man squad for the 1st
Test against Pakistan which begins on the 13th
at Lord’s. Matthew Hoggard who had an injury to
his bowling hand during training for England A
has been retained in the squad hoping that his
injury would heal in time. Steve Harmison and
Ian Bell, who had missed out during the Sri
Lankan Test Series return back to the side which
is being led by Andrew Strauss.
Andrew Flintoff
who is working on his ankle has started to play
in the county games and he is expected to return
for the 2nd Test. England would be hoping for
Matthew Hoggard, their strike bowler to get fit
as the bowling attack has just the one
experienced bowler in Steve Harmison. England
were forced to draw the 3-Tests Series against
underdogs Sri Lanka 1-1 and Pakistan team is
considered to be a much stronger side than Sri
Lanka.
