Profile of Mark Boucher
- Bhavya Kumar Vasudevan

The predecessor of Dave Richardson, Mark Boucher has been a fine performer for South Africa over all his years in International cricket. This vastly talented wicket keeper already has many records in his bag. Record for fastest to 100 dismissals, highest score by a night watchman, most number of matches without conceding a bye are amongst the many records that he has set. Boucher made his debut in Shiekupura against Pakistan in 1997. In his 2nd match itself his talent was to be seen when he along with Pat Symcox bailed South Africa out of trouble at 166 for 8 with a 195 run partnership. Boucher who was playing as a wicketkeeper only had shown that he was good with the bat too.

Boucher was appointed as South Africa's vice captain when Shaun Pollock took the captaincy over from Hansie Cronje. Ever since his debut, he has been scoring runs consistently batting at no. 6 for South Africa. Besides being very agile behind the stumps he has good leadership qualities in him that will benefit South Africa whenever he is appointed as the captain in the future.
