Coverage of Zal Irani Trophy

Irani Trophy, which is associated with the name of the late Mr.Z.R.Irani, who was the treasurer of the BCCI for more than three decades and then its President for a term (1966 to 1969), is an annual match played between the national champion (winner of the Ranji Trophy) and the Rest of India. The first match in the series was played in March, 1960. In 1961 and 1962 it was not staged. Originally intended to be played at the end of the season, the match was shifted from 1965-66 to the start of the domestic season.
