Pathan raring to go against South Africa |
Kolkata, Nov 13 2004:
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI)
here Saturday named Sourav Ganguly skipper of
the Indian squad for the two-test Videocon
series against South Africa.
BCCI's selection committee, after its meeting in
the evening, also announced the Indian team for
the first test, scheduled from Nov 20-24 in
Kanpur. The selection committee dropped Dheeraj
Jadhav and Shiv Shankar Paul, who had been
inducted into the squad for the last test match
against Australia in Mumbai.
Indian Squad: Sourav Ganguly (Captain),
Rahul Dravid (Vice Captain), Virender Sehwag,
Sachin Tendulkar, Gautam Gambhir, V.V.S. Laxman,
Mohammad Kaif, Anil Kumble, Harbhajan Singh,
Murali Kartik, Zaheer Khan, Irfan Pathan, Dinesh
Karthik and Ashish Nehra.
