Chanderpaul to miss the last two
ODIs due to a hamstring injury |

Shivnarine
Chanderpaul, the batsman who has been in good
nick in the last two series is out of the
remaining two ODIs due to a hamstring injury.
The Former West Indies Captain had pulled his
hamstring while taking a quick single to move
onto 5 during his innings at the Warner’s Park
in St.Kitts. Scans have revealed a small tear in
the hamstring and West Indies’ problems with the
injuries are piling up. Brian Lara looked to be
having a niggle or two as he was struggling to
bend down to stop the ball during the St.Kitts
ODI. Ramnaresh Sarwan who has been in tremendous
match winning form is having a problem with a
weak shoulder.
Coming back to Chanderpaul, he
had Runako Morton running for him and
interestingly he too is out of the West Indies
Squad for the last two ODIs. The Selectors have
recalled the experienced Wavell Hinds and rookie
Sewnarine Chattergoon, the impressive left
handed opening batsman from Guyana. West Indies
will miss Chanderpaul as he is coming to good
form and is timing the ball very sweetly, the
six he had hit in the 3rd ODI off the bowling of
Ajit Agarkar was just a one handed pick up shot!
West Indies after taking the 2-1 lead in the
5-ODIs Series is having the edge over India when
the two teams meet for the 4th ODI at Port of
Spain in Trinidad. India is under severe
pressure to win the two ODIs at Port of Spain to
win this series.
