Sreesanth ruled
out of the St.Lucia Test |
June 09, 2006
India’s fast bowler
Shantakumaran Sreesanth has been ruled out
of the 2nd Test at St.Lucia owing to a sore
heel. Sreesanth seems to have picked this injury
during the final day’s play where he was putting
the extra strain on his body to pick up the
wickets for India. The 23-year-old has got an
inflamed bursar at the back of his left heel and
would require three to five days of rest to get
back to full fitness. Sreesanth had already
missed two One Dayers on this tour and that was
due to an ankle injury which he had got during
the Abu Dhabi Series. Sreesanth had bowled
decently picking up the wickets of
Sarwan and
Lara but he did not
have enough firepower in his bowling to take
India to victory as he failed to take the wicket
of the No.11 of the West Indies in the final
over of the Antigua Test. With the 2nd Test
Match starting on the 10th, India would most
probably be getting
Irfan Pathan to replace the injured
Sreesanth and
Harbhajan Singh might come in for
VRV Singh.
