Scorecard and Notes
Pakistan's 1st Innings
Day 1
2.1 ovs : Pathan bowls to Malik and the right
hander turns it onto the onside softly and calls
his partner Butt. But seeing Yuvraj who is at
short leg moving in quickly to his left, Malik
sends him back and Butt by then is done in by a
direct throw at the non striker's end : Pak 1-12
(Butt, 2.1 ovs)
44.3 ovs : Pathan bowls it slightly wider and
tempts Malik to go for the drive on the up and
the slowness in the track takes the drive
straight into the hands of Harbhajan at covers :
Pak 2-136 (Malik, 44.3 ovs)
Day 2
109.3 ovs : Kumble slows down his delivery after
seeing Yousuf's intentions of coming down the
track and lofting him, Mohd.Yousuf's head is
somewhere positioned and he misses to make any
contact with the ball and an easy stumping for
Dhoni : Pak 455/3 (Yousuf, 109.3 ovs)
111.4 ovs : Inzamam misjudges the speed and the
length of Kumble's flipper and makes the fatal
mistake of going for a sweep shot to be trapped
plum in front : Pak 4-456 (Inzamam, 111.4 ovs)
117.3 ovs : Younis Khan sets off for a quick
single to get to his 200th run but Afridi at the
non striker sends him back and by then
Harbhajan's throw from mid on strikes directly
onto the stumps. Younis would have got out even
without a direct throw. Afridi was blocked by
Kumble's attempt to stop the ball! Pak 5-477 (Younis
Khan, 117.2 ovs)
138.5 ovs : Afridi fails to connect the ball
with the middle of his bat and instead gets the
toe and Harbhajan at mid wicket takes the skier;
Agarkar who was round the wicket this time
finally got a wicket. Pak 6-647 (Afridi,
138.5 ovs)
142.4 ovs : Rana Naved goes for a wild slog and
Ganguly at mid off takes a stunning one handed
catch jumping backwards; Agarkar picks up his
