India meet Scotland today at Glasgow

Munaf Patel has returned back after an injuryFresh from their Test Series exploits, Rahul Dravid's team gets itself geared up for a busy ODI Season with a one-off game against Scotland today. The One Day International will be played at the Clydesdale Cricket Club in Titwood, Glasgow. This was the same venue that was suppose to host a charity ODI between India and Pakistan on the 3rd of last month which unfortunately was abandoned without a single ball bowled. Reports are that today's game as well is at the mercy of the rain gods. It can be recalled that the drainage system of this ground isn't good enough and having already taken a battering from the rains in the last few days, it wouldn't come as a surprise if this match is ruined. But the bright news is that there has been some sunshine yesterday which has given the hope for the Clydesdale Cricket Club to host its first ever ODI.

The Scotland Selectors have named their strongest team by calling up all its players who are engaged playing in County Cricket. According to Cricket Scotland, Navdeep Poonia, all rounder Gavin Hamilton, John Blain and Dewald Nel have been included in the Ryan Watson led side. Over 2000 tickets have been sold in advance by Cricket Scotland and there is still a chance of spectators buying tickets today. It looks like there is going to be a near full house but a small capacity crowd compared to what one gets to see at other high profile stadiums around the world. The wicket at today's venue in Glasgow might be a damp one with all the rain around and conditions being overcast, the ball will move in the air and off the track.

India are likely to field all their One Day replacements for this match. They also have an opportunity to get these boys to have a feel of the UK conditions during the match against England Lions which is on the 18th. The likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly and Zaheer Khan are likely to be rested for this match. Ajit Agarkar and Munaf Patel, who has returned back after an injury along with RP Singh will most likely to form the pace trio. India might play the two spinners in Piyush Chawla and Ramesh Powar. At the top of the batting order would be the two enthusiastic strokeplayers - Robin Uthappa and Gautam Gambhir. The Indians might be looking to give a promotion for Rohit Sharma who hasn't really got an opportunity to show his batting skills as he had got to play only one ODI innings which came towards the death of an innings.
