Strauss to lead England Lions against India |
Andrew
Strauss has been named as the Captain of the
England Lions which will be playing a three-day
match against the touring Indian team next week.
The England Selectors have picked just eleven
players for this event that will be played at
Chelmsford. This match will be India's last one
before they head into the opening Test Match at
Lord's. So the England Lions will be keen in
spoiling India's confidence levels in their game
which starts on the 13th.
According to the Chairman of Selectors, David
Graveney as per media reports, the England Lions
team is a strong side that can truly test the
touring team ahead of the upcoming npower Test
Series. The side is packed with four pacers -
Tremlett, Broad, Bresnan and Onions. The Lions
have an upcoming legspinner by the name Adil
Rashid who plays for Yorkshire. All eyes will be
on Andrew Strauss as he looks to work up some
form and confidence after a string of poor
scores in the recent past which has also seen
him lose his place in the One Day Side. Owais
Shah is another batsman who will be looking to
grab a place in the Test Squad following his
impressive batting in the recently concluded ODI
Series against West Indies.
