Third and Final
ODI washed out |
May 15, 2007
The third and final ODI between Bangladesh and
India at Chittagong has been abandoned without a
single ball bowled due to overnight rain. India
have won the three-match series 2-0.
The match was doubtful to be played since Sunday
because of heavy rains following a depression in
Bay of Bengal. The two Umpires Asoka de Silva
and Enamul Haque had decided to have an
inspection at 12:00 noon and then decided to
have it an hour later. The conditions were wet,
there was plenty of water that was collected. It
was a packed house, all the 30,000 tickets were
sold out but unfortunately an hour later the
Umpires after consulting the two Captains
decided to call the game off. This match was
supposed to be Habibul Bashar's last One Day
International of his career.
Mahendra Singh Dhoni for his performances with
the bat in the first two One Dayers has got the
Player of the Series award.
The same venue will be used for the first test
between the two sides which starts on the 18th.
