Venkatesh Prasad and Robin Singh, the bowling and fielding Coaches of Team India respectively have been sacked today from these roles by the BCCI. Its learnt that the BCCI has taken this step following the team’s inconsistent performances of late which includes the failures in the T20 World Cup in England and the Champions Trophy in South Africa.
On the bowling front especially, India has been weakened with fast bowlers like Ishant Sharma and RP Singh fading out from their earlier successes. Ironically it was under Venkatesh Prasad that India had forged together a pool of performing fast bowlers not so long ago. It remains to be seen as to who will take over the roles of Prasad and Robin.
