India’s One Day discard Robin Uthappa played a sensational cameo of 51 from 21 balls (with 4 fours and 4 sixes) to set up a terrific win for hosts Royal Challengers Bangalore. The homeside chased a difficult target of 204 with as many as 7 balls to spare with Jacques Kallis once again proving to be the Fort of the team. The South African all-rounder steered the side to a 8-wicket victory with an unbeaten 89 (from 55 balls with 8 fours and 5 sixes). But of course, his task was made easier by the brilliant knock from Uthappa.
Kings XI Punjab thought that they had batted out the hosts by piling up 203 for 3. Openers Ravi Bopara (77 from 50 balls with 9 fours and 2 sixes) and Manvinder Bisla (75 from 51 balls with 7 fours and 4 sixes) put up a wonderful platform. The pitch had everything for the batsmen and the bowlers though it was easier for the former to just hit through the line.
