Mumbai’s medium pacer Dhawal Kulkarni has found a place in the Indian Test squad following a wonderful debut season in the Ranji Trophy Championship. The Indian Selectors picked squads for all the three different versions of the game which went on expected notes. The only casualties were R.P.Singh and Sreesanth who had lost their way after some great show in England.

The Selectors have retained young Murali Vijay in the team because of his impressive performance in the 3rd Test against Australia. There is a place for Dinesh Karthik ahead of Parthiv Patel as it was mandatory to have two wicket keepers on a long away tour. Karthik has found a place in all the three squads to provide cover as the wicket keeper for the Skipper MS Dhoni. Karthik has been lucky to have found a place in the team after a shocking show in Sri Lanka where he failed to collect even straightforward takes behind the stumps. It seems that his explosive batting has got him the nod ahead of an equally deserving Parthiv Patel. A surprise pick in the test squad is Lakshmipathy Balaji, who just struggled to bowl with any pace in the last One dayer in Sri Lanka. Harbhajan Singh replaces Ravindra Jadeja in the ODI Squad.

India plays 2 T20Is, 5 ODIs and 3 Tests in the tour of New Zealand. India hasn’t got a good record in New Zealand, the last time it toured this country was six years back. This time it appears that India should have a cakewalk in all their games with the team being exceptionally strong in the entire world and their opponents New Zealand lacking in the skill as was seen in their series against Australia.
