Cricket Association have knocked HCA President's
XI out of the tournament and are now into the
Quarter Finals. Resuming at an overnight score
of 121/1, just 11 runs behind HCA President's,
Vidharbha compiled another 128 runs. HCA
President's bowlers M.P.Arjun and skipper and
left arm spinner Inder Sekhar Reddy did the
damage taking 4 and 3 wickets each. But their
team's 1st innings total was way too low to
stage a serious comeback in the game. Vidharbha
opener, Deshpande scored 65 and one drop batsman
Alind Naidu made 69. Other important
contribution was that of H.Shittoot, who scored
37. HCA President's XI didn't fair better in
their second innings, which was a 40 overs
limited. All they could manage was 122 runs
losing wickets once again in a heap owing to the
middle order collapse. Sandeep Singh picked up
another 3 wicket haul in this match. The
homeside could just get Vidharbha to bat again
and the target was just 6 runs! HCA President's
XI leggie Nagaraj picked up opener Fiaz Fazal
and that reduced the victory margin to 9
wickets.
