Ganguly cleared to play the 2nd Test at Kolkata |
26th Nov, London:
In a major relief for Sourav Ganguly, the
two-Test ban on him was today lifted by the ICC,
ending the suspense over the Indian captain’s
availability for the second Test against South
Africa.
The decision to uphold Ganguly’s appeal was
taken by the appeals commissioner New Zealand
barrister Tim Castle, who found the cicumstances
during the November 13 one-dayer against
Pakistan as “particularly unusual and a large
number of them conspired to cause the delays
which occured”.
